Color Recall
See a color for 3 seconds, then recreate it from memory
What is this game?
A color appears for 3 seconds, then disappears. Move the hue, saturation and brightness sliders to rebuild the color you just saw as closely as you can, then confirm. Your accuracy is measured with CIEDE2000, a color difference formula based on how human eyes perceive color. You only get one shot. It tests your color sense and visual memory together. The color is fixed for each board, so you can compete with friends on the exact same one.
How to play
- A color shows for 3 seconds. Memorize it.
- Rebuild it with the hue, saturation and brightness sliders, then confirm.
- You'll see the original next to yours, and that accuracy is your score.
Tips for a better record
- Put it into words, like "warm orange, a bit muted and light". It sticks better.
- Match the hue first, then brightness, then saturation.
- People tend to remember colors as more vivid than they were. Try easing off the saturation.
